Get rid of gray bar at bottom of a post I’m writing on iPad 16. I’m sure it’s simple but my intuition doesn’t match the designers way of thinking

I don't believe that it is possible to fully suppress this feature when using an external keyboard. You can, however, reduce its visibility by disabling Predictive Text in iPad settings:
Settings > General > Keyboard > [All Keyboards] Predictive Text - set to OFF
