Apple Podcasts restart from the beginning of the episode every time I close or pause it

I will listen to an episode and when I close the app or pause it, it won’t pick up where I left off. It restarts from the beginning of the episode every time. I’ve tried closing the app and opening back up, I’ve tried turning off my WiFi, I’ve tried restarting my phone. Please help.
