What is "Window Server" using almost 400GB of virtual memory?

Weird as it may seem, this appears to be normal. Maybe just a bug in the Info display...

Your memory pressure graphics is green, the swap space used could be lower, but is not "scandalous" given your mac has (presumably) 8GB of real memory.

FWIW, I also see the WindowServer show about 400GB of virtual memory, on two different macs, but everything is working smoothly. It shows these values even immediately after restarting.

I am guessing that if others test, they will find the same thing.

The tablet driver and Google have basically hit a memory leak. Every tab is likely generating thousands of pages to the file system to maintain its activity.

If you have a tablet, its touch/heat sensitive surface is probably registering multiple inputs at once due to something on top of it. If there was a spill that would explain more of that.

I would start by closing your Google tabs until it is more manageable.

Make sure your boot drive isn't over 85% full.

Short and unpopular suggestion for some

May consider an alternative www.brrave.com which is essentially Google Chrome without the Google baggage

Hi, Owl-53: can you test to see if you see the same kind of memory for WindowServer?
I never installed any Google thing on this mac (as you may guess!) and my WindowServer still shows 400+ GB

1) Activity Monitor, type "Window" in search to easily find it
2) Select WindowServer

I am not sure if it is a bug, or by design, but it does not seem to be causing any noticeable problem...

Funny you should ask

Before posting, this is what is appearing in Activity Monitor

Like yourself, Google anything has never received the Light of Day on any of the 3 M-Class machines all with Sequoia 15.6.1 , for the moment, the current version

refer below and maybe an over kill of info.
