MacBook Pro delete key not working after liquid damage

Hi, coffee accidentally spilled on my MacBook Pro and after I dried it the next day the delete key stopped working, I went in store and they said they have to replace the whole thing as theres liquid damage, which would be $800 or I can buy a new one 😔 is there anything I can do to use the delete button?

It's a matter of when, not if, the whole laptop will stop working.

Indeed, once liquid gets into an electronic device, the writing is on the wall...or more accurately, the corrosion is on the chips. It will spread over time and at some point a critical component will fail and the Mac will stop working entirely.

To the OP: if you aren't backing up your Mac then now is the time to start.
