To avoid a session of Q&A, Q&A  and Q&A

Download the Application Etrecheck  ( External Link ) directly from the Developer.

This is a Diagnostic Tool that makes no changes to the computer.

It makes a coherent and readable inventory of both the Hardware and Software used on the computer

The application is free or paid for added features.

I, Owl-53, will defer to my more learned colleague @ BDAqua in regards to the DriveDX report

Though, I do see mention of " Advanced SMART Status : FAILING "

This, in and of itself dovetails into their early suggestion

Get an external drive and install Ventura to that drive

A good start might be OWC.com

Often suggested by more senior contributors

To obtain good performance levels

May consider an Enclosure that match up with this machine and then a Large SSD Drive

Both pieces of hardware can be purchased from OWC

Thanks to yet another contributor @Allan Jones

I have picked up some not so good info from your report

Failing hard drive - This computer has a hard drive that appears to be failing.

Kernel panics - This system has experienced kernel panics. This could be a sign of hardware failure.

This is further reinforced, by the Read and Write Speeds

Performance:

  System Load: 1.45 (1 min ago) 1.70 (5 min ago) 2.14 (15 min ago)

  Nominal I/O usage: 0.18 MB/s

File system: 607.59 seconds (timed out)

  Write speed: 3 MB/s

  Read speed: 11 MB/s

The Write and Read Speeds seem to indicate what we fear most

The Internal Drive is Toast
