Mail App not loading any of Gmail folders inbox, flagged etc.

When trying to refresh my google mail on the mail app on an Iphone, it displayed a message saying there was a connection issue go to the mail account for information. After doing this and not finding anything. Google recommended that I remove and re add the account. I have done this and now it will not show any folders within the google account. Please see the attached picture below. Any ideas on how to rectify this? Thank you in advance.
