iMovie Video Audio sync issues due to VBR or codecs.

Sharing my experience and hopefully useful. I have been editing clips from 2 different phones and getting a constant sync issue when trying to align them. The answers on the forum were pretty vague but I had an Eureka moment.

1. Choose a starting point on both files. (The files should be stacked top and bottom)
2. Go to the end where the files will not be synced. Choose a point which should be the same on both files (a line of dialog, cough, clap). (I use the marker)
3. Click on the top file and select Show Speed Editor.
4. Drag the editor until both marker points are lined up.

You can do the same for audio.

I can't believe for almost 2 months I was dragging and lining up files manually.
