I need a copy of a receipt for an in-store purchase

My receipt is lost/damaged. When I call the apple support number, I get tech support, who can't help me, who routes me to sales, who can't help me.


When I dial the main number for the store I get:


"I'm an agent who can understand complete sentences, how may I help you today?"


"I need a copy of a receipt."


"Was that an online order, in store, or for a part?"


"In store".


"Let me transfer you". (rings once)


"Thank you for calling Apple, all of our representatives are helping other people, please hold for the next agent"


(dead air)

(call drops after five minutes)


If someone from inside apple sees this, you need to fix this issue.


In the mean time, your people are all pointing at other departments like the spider man meme. This happens both on the phone and in live chat.


(Also, there's no Community topic that actually relates to the physical stores)

There is no Apple here in these user to user technical forums.

I would be very surprised if the store actually even has your receipt. They will remain on store level for a very little amount of time. You can try contacting the store where your purchase was made directly, but don't be surprised if you are out of luck. That is why Apple tells you to keep your receipt. That one is on you.

The store where I made the purchase is four hours away from me.


I did finally reach a human at the apple store by saying "Manager" when the system asks what I want. I reported the hangup issue to them.


The receipt was in my email before I was off the call, based on nothing but the serial number (they didn't even need to ask for my email, it was associated).


Why can apple store do this, but nobody at corporate? That's just broken.
