Pngs losing transparency when downloaded to my photos app

I have the latest update for the iPad. And there’s nothing wrong with my device. It doesn’t matter where I download stuff from. It can be from Google Chrome from discord from Facebook anywhere it does not matter, but no matter where I download from it can even come directly from my photo gallery, where things used to be transparent, everything has a white background and I cannot get rid of it. I am a digital artist. This is ruining my career. I need my stuff transparent. This is how I make my money. My job is depending on this transparency I did not pay much money for a tablet to suddenly stop functioning for the one purpose I bought it for why on earth does the transparency just suddenly stop working all across my device without reason I have tried every single troubleshooting format and method. I have set my tablet to save the files. I have made sure that all of my software that I’m using is using the PNG format. There is nothing wrong with any of the things that I’m using to get stuff downloaded from. It has to be something wrong with the tablet if I can’t get this fixed, I don’t know what I’m going to do. This has to be a bug or a glitch or something, and it’s not just happening on one of my tablets I have an older iPad and a newer and a newer one. And both of them have the exact same glitch. Both of them are updated to the 18 iOS the newer one has the latest iOS the old one can’t be updated beyond the last update before the newest update. There is no reason why both of these tablets stop functioning with the transparency. What is going on?

brbo's reference was right on! If you use iCloud Photos with "Optimize," then the png file is probably not on the iPad. When you start to edit a picture, Photos downloads the original, but the edited picture that's exported will not be png. You can get the original from Photos with Share>Export Unmodified Original, but it may have to first retrieve it from iCloud Photos.

I wonder if you need Photos for these png pictures, since you aren't editing them. You could save the picture files to iCloud Drive, and then you can tell the iPad to "Keep Downloaded." How available they are depends on the app you're using.
