why does iPhone silence after first ring

Randomly, iPhone 15 Pro Max silences the ring after one ring, but the caller is still there. All ringers and volume levels are correct. Also Attention Aware is off

How long your phone rings is determined by your carrier. You can contact your carrier and ask them to let your phone ring longer if you'd like.

If you mean they are NOT sent to voicemail even after 5 or 10 seconds then IMHO the carrier is not controlling the rings and your phone is probably at fault - try a different ringtone.
