Apple TV app on Macbook Pro NOT WORKING!!

I’m running into an issue with the Apple TV app on my Mac. The app keeps crashing whenever I try to open or use it. I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling it, but I’ve learned that the TV app is a system app on macOS and can’t be deleted like third-party apps.


Here’s what I’ve tried so far:


  • Force quit and relaunch
  • Restarting the Mac
  • Checking for macOS updates (system is up to date)


But the problem still persists.


Is there any way to reset the Apple TV app (like clearing its cache or preferences) without having to reinstall the entire macOS? Or has anyone else found a fix for repeated crashing issues with the TV app?

Restart your MacBook in Safe Mode. Safe Mode performs a series of maintenance routines including emptying of caches and a quick check of your storage device. Safe Mode also blocks third party extensions, plugins, etc. If the problem goes away ion Safe Mode then restart in normal mode and test again.
