HomePod connection without Wi-Fi using iPhone's hotspot

I've restarted my homepod as I don't now have a wifi router but it keeps asking for wifi so I cant set it up. I need it to connect to my iphone and use the phones hotspot? how do I do this please? Not sure which HomePod it is but had it a while
