There is no "set up eSIM" button in the cellular menu on iPhone 15 Pro

Good afternoon. I have an iPhone 15pro, but there is no "set up eSIM" button in the cellular menu. The phone information shows 2 IMEIs, indicating that the phone supports eSIM, but there is no button, and the QR code sent by the carrier does not open on the phone (I tried it on another phone and it opened). I have already restarted the phone and updated it to the latest software version, but the button is still missing. Can you please tell me if you have encountered a similar issue? What should I do? Thank you!

If you have an option for eSIM on your device, then you will have one EID and two IMEIs. Please check if you have it.

Settings > General > About > EID (See the pic below)

eSIM on iPhone is not offered in China mainland. In Hong Kong and Macao, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), and iPhone XS feature eSIM. Learn about using Dual SIM with two nano-SIM cards in China mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao.

You may not be aware, but there is a version of the iPhone 15 that does not support eSIM at all. It supports two SIM only.

Tap Settings > General > About and post back with the Model Number that you see.

Now tap directly on the Model Number and another 5 character number......like Axxxx, for example.....will appear.

Post back with the Axxxx number that you see.

Yep, that is a model specifically made for the China/Hong Kong/Macau markets. As such it does not support eSim. It is a dual physical SIM model phone. And no, there is no way to "flash" it as you asked to make a phone which doesn't support eSim to magically support eSim.

You may have also noticed that while you own a phone which is capable of Apple Intelligence, your iPhone can't support Apple Intelligence, because it has not yet been approved for use on any iPhone manufactured for the China Markets.
