Why do you say that?

You can certainly share your location with others, but have not provided any information, screenshots, or other information that would be concerning. Some apps like Life360 allow sharing your location too, but you would have to authorize that. Have you checked at Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services and reviewed the information there?

For all we know, you got a text message that said you are being tracked and they want you to download some software to fix a problem you do not have.

As mentioned, the cellular networks track you all of the time. If they didn't, you wouldn't be able to make or receive phone calls. Apps can track you too, but only if you give them permission. Likewise, your phone will not share your location with others unless you have explicitly granted permission.

That leaves scams where people lie about tracking you, in hopes of ripping you off in one way or another.

"Hey, pervert" is one of the "classic" scams. Criminals send an intended victim a message claiming that they have been

  • Watching the intended victim visit "adult" Web sites, or
  • Spying on the intended victim using the phone's cameras and microphones, and recording stuff that the intended victim would not want their family or employer to know about.

It's all a pack of lies. The criminals have nothing. They send these messages out by the thousands - or hundreds of thousands – in the hope that someone will be frightened enough to pay the extortion demand.
