Game Pigeon not loading iMessages while on FaceTime

was playing a game of game pigeon checkers while on facetime. after the game was over i tried to scroll up and none of my messages prior to the game would load. the old messages will show up after deleting a new message but only until the conversation is closed and then they disappear again and the loading circle pops back up above checkers.
