Safari browser locked up and unresponsive on Mac

Safari has stopped working. I cannot navigate to any web sites. I am using Firefox to navigate.

Force Quit Safari and then relaunch Safari and test.

If that does not help or Safari stops working again.

Startup in Safe Mode and test, then restart normally and re-test.

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support


Then if that doesn't help..?

Let's use EtreCheckPro to check and see if you have installed any third-party AV, Protecting, Cleaning junk-ware or a VPN on your Mac that is causing the problem.
