Safari on Mac - Two Page Display

Hi, I have a problem with viewing pdfs inline in Safari (v 18.6) on my Mac (macOS 15.6.1). The thing is, when I switch to "Two Pages" viewing mode, it doesn't display the first page as a single page, as it should. This breaks the layout for images spanning over two pages.


Preview and Acrobat do this right (example screenshots attached). Is there a way to create the pdf (in my case, from Apple Pages) somehow differently, so that it always shows a single page first in both Safari and Preview?
