Apple Mail app unreliability and iMac keyboard issues

I have been experiencing significant problems with Apple Mail App to the extent that I am actively looking for alternatives. If I have to send an important email I now double check with the recipient to make sure they receive my message.

I also have problems with my 2019 iMac 27" and the keyboard keeps jumping about. It has become so bad I no longer use the iMac but use my basic MacBook Air.

Is anyone else seeing these issues? Can anyone suggest a fix as the Apple help pages are of little help.

I am thinking of replacing both my computers but unless I find a solution it will have to be another brand which I am not keen on!

I've used Apple Mail for Mac exclusively on my iMac and two Macbook Pros since 2018 with zero issues. Often, symptoms like you describe are either issuesin your IPS's servers, or due to unneeded aftermarket utilities you have installed.

Anti-virus and so-called "cleaning" apps as well as cheap client-side VPNs can cause issues with mail transmission and reading. If someone else set up your computer for you and you are not sure what is or isn't on it, we can help.

If you want a data-driven evaluation in this setting where we can neither see nor touch your computer, please post an EtreCheck report. We can quickly and within the extreme limitations of these forums help you determine what issues are afoot without our playing a protracted game of "20 Questions" with you that could go on for days.

The free version will do nicely for this purpose, although the app is worthy of our financial support.

Please post the entire report unedited. What seems insignificant to a new Etrecheck user can hold answers for those of us who have reviewed thousands of those reports.

What service are you using for your email? Apple or something else? That is probably more important than the app. What are the recipients using where you see the problem?

Regarding "the keyboard keeps jumping about, " what do you mean by that exactly? Give specific examples. The first thing to do is to try another keyboard, to see if the original one is damaged and needs to be replaced.
