Macbook air M1 A2337 screen issue (side line or stripe with distorted colors)

Hello community!

It's a macbook air M1 A2337, bought it in 2021, always took amazing care of it. No bending, no hits, nothing.

Issue:

Suddenly there is a vertical band on the left side of the screen with distorted colors. Additionally, after prolonged use, image retention or "ghosting" of previously displayed windows becomes visible.

Tried this:

Closed the lid in various angles, applied some gentle pressure around the screen but the line stays when the mac is on.

I've wiped the disk and re-installed Sequoia from zero, ran diagnostics and got PPP007, PPP020 and PPP001 codes. but it's strange since I'm using the charger that came with the mac and it's working perfectly, same as both USB-C ports.

BUT I've noticed, that when I shutdown the mac, the screen is normal, and only when I login with my password, iOS starts and the line appears (have done a video here: www.youtube.com/shorts/48fINOM6BC8)

I contacted the local Mac support, but they say it would cost 500 bucks for changing the screen (half of what I've paid and what costs a 2nd hand M1), but I don't think that the issue is hardware, because the line appears after login in.

Is there anyone who could solved it, or had similar experience and could help me?

Thanks guys!

Most times that will be an issue with the Display Assembly.

Since it only appears as soon as you log in, then it seems like it may be some sort of issue with your user account. The first thing which comes to mind is the transparency setting in macOS. Make sure to check "Reduce Transparency" in the System Settings --> Accessibility --> Display subsection.

This needs to be off in order to eliminate this as the source of the ghosting issue.

Perhaps uncheck the box "Reopen windows when logging in" when you Logout, Restart, Shutdown so that you don't have stuff relaunch as you login.

Try creating a new macOS user account. See if the same issue occurs when logging into the new macOS user account.

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if that makes a difference.

Also, take a screenshot of the screen. Then view the screenshot....if viewing it on this same laptop, then make sure to slide the picture to the right so the screenshot picture & the problem section of the screen don't overlap. Or view the screenshot on another device or display. If the screenshot does not show the issue, then you have confirmed a hardware issue with the laptop's built-in Display Assembly.
