iMac G3 fails to find driver after disconnection

My imac G3, having been disconnected for a few months as we re-arranged the house, now only displays a message to say it can't find a driver for this platform.

Anyone able to advise?

That would be a G4 iMac failing to begin its startup sequence. You will need to reinstall its operating system.

Boot that Mac from its original System Install DVD and reinstall OS X. To do that, press and hold the mouse button while starting the iMac, which will open the optical drive tray. Release the mouse button. Insert that disc, press and hold the C key. Release the C key when the Apple logo appears. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, use the mouse or cursor keys to select Install OS X.
