Manage in what way?

What are you looking to accomplish?

How are you managing the iPhone exactly?

You can sync content like photos and songs to the iPad exactly the same way you do with your iPhone, by plugging it in to the Mac with a cable and looking for it in Finder.

If you explain what you are trying to do exactly, someone may be able to advise.

I g I guess that managing is the wrong word to usee

when I have my iPhone attached I can open programs and no longer have to

Try to use the small print on my iPhone.

I have a program that I am trying to learn how to use on my iPad and it would be much easier to try to get used to that program if I could view it on my large screen

I looked on the Internet and I found that I could open up the utilities and it would show me all the Devices that are on my network and I could from there Open my iPad but unfortunately the item they told me to use does not appear in the utility section

So I am stuck

You mean Mirror the iPad to the Mac?

While there is no Mirroring app specifically for the iPad, like there is for the iPhone, you can still see the iPad's screen on the Mac by enabling the AirPlay receiver function, and then use AirPlay option in the iPad to mirror the screen to the Mac.

On the Mac go to System Settings ➜ General ➜ AirDrop & Handoff ➜ AirPlay Receiver and make sure it's turned on.

Then on the iPad, open Control Center, tap on (the Screen Mirroring icon), and then look for your Mac in the list there. Tap it, and your iPad's screen should appear on the Mac.

You'll still need to control it using the iPad though.
