Purchased Albums not downloading to my folder & so much more
Hi,
So, after using iTunes since 2006 with not once any BS, I am so ready to throw the Music app out with the bath water it's not even funny.
After multiple issues trying to restore my old music catalog and library, I realized I had many purchased albums from Apple Music and those files were missing. I found the albums in 'hidden music' which I am not even sure how they ended up hidden, went through each one and clicked 'download all'.
I have done this repeatedly, having to delete duplicates each time, which to me is asinine for Apple Music to make duplicates of Apple Music files, can't it read what's already there? I am doing this repeatedly because only one or two songs per album that actually does make it, do not have the cloud with the exclamation point. Then, when I try to click on those little error cloud icons, I get 'this item cold not be added to your Cloud library due to an error'. This is also ridiculous because since it was bought on Apple Music, how can it not find it? Shouldn't it already be in the cloud? I am trying to download my purchase files, after all, I purchased them, I should be able to have them on my drive. And even though quite a few of them are on the drive, Music can't find them, which means manually locating each individual one, or deleting and re-adding the album. Plus, there are several albums not downloading at all and albums that show all the songs, but the albums are nowhere to be found! 😱
Clearly, there are some serious issues with Music right now. I have gotten such a variety of errors I am tempted to just kiss it off and use Amazon Music (please don't make me do that! 😩). I have errors ranging from cannot sync library, to having up to 4 duplicates files in some cases, to so many missing files which are sitting right there in the folders and lost playlists that I have since 2006 (I know because most them are named by date & time), I haven't been able to use my Music app to actually play music in months! Every time I try to just shuffle the library, I get these long pauses where it is skipping files because it can't find them. And, the playlists I have recreated (painfully), also cannot find files that are sitting right there!
Turning on and off Sync just recreates problems I already fixed. Turning on 'Organize Folder' adds a SECOND Music folder inside the current music folder and splits some artists and individual albums between the two Music folders, WTH that is, I have not idea.
I have twice now sent these issues to Feedback for Music app with hopefully, some doable improvements for these problems, but I think the moderators here will also send heavily reported problems to the developers, so I make sure to cover both.
Note: all my software is up to date. Using Sequoia with Music on Mac.
Anything anyone knows how to do that is not in Apple Support already, please advise.
Have a nice day!
