Determining legitimacy of macOS software license claims in Flexera inventory

We are at the early stages of supporting macOS devices at our organization after using only Windows previously. One of the things that we have to do is install our software inventory application (Flexera) on the devices to make sure that we are properly licensed for things. However, when running the inventory, it is claiming that it has found licensed software that we don't use and from what I can tell it is installed on a base macOS image. I think this since when I look on my personal macOS device (Mac mini) the same files are on that as well.

Here are three examples of what it is reporting:

  • Vertiv DSAuth 1.9 software. Flexera found the files in the folder /system/library/SystemConfiguration/PPPController.bundle/Contents/Plugins/DSAuth.ppp
  • Wasp MobileAsset 1.0 software found in /system/library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileAsset.framework/
  • Peacock Media - Dendrite software found in /system/library/privateframeworks/Dendrite.framework or DendriteIngest.framework

Can anyone explain to me what these are and if they are, as I suspect, just pieces that are contained in a base macOS machine, how do I prove that there are no licenses that need to be purchased for this?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Original Title: Our software inventory application is finding pieces of software on our macOS devices that it claims need a license. How do I figure out if that is actually true or not?
