green phone icon does not work when depressed to end call. This has been going on forever.

Depressing the green phone icon DOES NOT turn red to end calls; even after restarting again and again. Only to face the same problem. Also the numbers on keypad are faulty when prompted to “press 1 to send; press 2 to re-record; press 3 to listen to your message; press 0 for operator” etc etc etc. very, very frustrating. Why are others complaining about the same issue?

Post a screenshot of what you are seeing. What you describe is a carrier feature for Voicemail and not specific to the options presented in the Phone app for calls. Also let us know the cell provider as they may offer specific instructions for that service. Voicemail has always been a carrier service, it is not your phone that actually records the messages, they are saved on the carrier's server and you access them depending on your cell provider.
That is correct. The red icon ends a call.
To end the call, tap
