/Applications/.Microsoft Word.app.installBackup/Contents/Resources/fr_CA.lproj

... would be a hidden file, and that's not normal. Not unless Microsoft considers hiding its files normal, which would not necessarily surprise me.

Definitely try Kurt Lang's suggestion first. You might consider attempting to delete that file using Terminal but I am reluctant to post those instructions since it's easy to get yourself into trouble with Terminal, and... you don't have a backup.

Sheesh! I must need more chocolate, or somethin'! How did I miss that?

Kind of explains why it's hidden. According to an AI answer and other Google search links, it's this:

The ".Microsoft Word.app.installBackup" folder indicates a corrupted or incomplete Office installation, often appearing on macOS after a failed Office update. To fix it, try restarting your Mac, ensuring your system and Office apps are fully updated, or deleting the folder using the Terminal app. If the problem persists, fully uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Word from the official Microsoft website to resolve the corrupted installation.

Using Terminal would work, but it would be much less dangerous if the user simply pressed Command+Option+. (period) at the desktop to show all hidden items. Then you'd see it in the Applications folder and can just dump it yourself.
