Faulty MacBook Air display
A section of my screen on the left hand side has turned dark. I have restarted but this does not resolve the issue. Does anybody how this can be fixed?

First, let’s see if this issue happens in Safe Mode:
If the strange behaviors do not occur, then it may possibly be a software issue.
If the issue doesn't continue in safe mode:
Leave safe mode by restarting your Mac normally, then try to reproduce the issue.
If the issue doesn't return, it might have been resolved by the other things that safe mode did at startup, such as checking your disk and clearing caches.
If the problem persists, then let’s try this:
If nothing I had suggested worked, then you’ll need to ⇢ Start a Service Request.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉
I’m afraid did this not resolve the issue. However, I did notice that when I ran the diagnostics, there was no strip down the left hand side of the screen and therefore perhaps this is most likely a software issue. The diagnostics suggested there might be an issue with the power port. I will raise a service request.

When did it start?
Does this only when you are on excel?
I think it looks like one half is on night mode and the other is on normal mode
Vertical bands & lines are usually caused by a bad Display Assembly which will need to be repaired.
It started this morning all of a sudden. That dark strip is there regardless of which App I use.
Thanks 👍
