WhatsApp backup issue on iOS 18.6

The solution is - I tried offload option under General>iPhone Storage>WhatsApp>Offload App. It clearly states that it keeps documents & data. DO NOT DELETE THE APP. Deleting & Offload aren't the same. Click install. You will notice WhatsApp still present on iPhone main screen with a cloud logo, click on it & it will install/download. Then back up which will definitely work. I tried 2 times on my iPhone 12 to make sure. It worked on my iPhone 12 & then I prayed, did it on my iPhone 15 Pro as I have nearly 10 GB data. It worked. It was showing nothing in Total size but now I have a back up with time/date as usual. Back up is working now on both iPhone's. I use to work at Dell, Apple & HP in the past, this issue was the worst to resolve but it was simple solution. As they say in IT if we don't get our basics right then we can't resolve.

The storage saving by offloading apps is tiny, hardly worth the bother, and with apps as flakey as Whatsapp, dangerous, I agree.

On the other hand, it is personally cleansing to occasionally clear out all Whatsapp data because social media is notoriously wasteful and clingy, and uninstalling it is a quick way to cleanse.
