How to connect a HDD camcorder to a Mac?

I have a sony handicam that is a hard disk drive (DCR-SR42) that i would love to be able to get the videos off onto my mac, though I have no idea how to, apart from having a cable, but not the connection that is needed.

I am hoping someone here may know how, as there is very little info online. Thankyou
