Blank page while accessing websites on late 2012 iMac

have a Imac 27 late 2012. can't access internet. I can access apple.com but any other site of value, I get a blanc page. Why does this happen?

I can't install google because apple wants charge me $20.00 to download and use google chrome on my iMac Any way around this?

Follow those steps but given what you describe additional investigation is justified. Consider using EtreCheck and posting its report in a reply to this Discussion. Instructions: How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting Large Amounts of Text, i.e. an Etrecheck Report - Apple Community

If you are unable to load either one of those links, restart your Mac in "Safe Mode" Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support. Read them, download the EtreCheck app while in that mode, but do not run EtreCheck until after restarting your Mac normally. That's important.
