Is my recently replaced MacBook battery original?

Hi everyone, I just got the battery in my MacBook [Pro 2018 15-inch] replaced at a local shop. I want to confirm if it’s a genuine Apple battery. Here are the details: MacBook model: [e.g., MacBook Pro 2018 15-inch] Battery cycle count: [e.g., 1 cycles] Battery health/status from System Information: it shows manufacturer DSY.Could someone help me verify if this battery is original? What signs or checks should I look for? Thanks!

I guess my question would be whats the difference...?

if you are having some issue you do not say, state clearly what is the issue(?) ;

or return to your local shop to address the issue.

They are many suppliers of Apple batteries including your "DSY"

List China Battery Manufacture —There are many sources not just one...

ex.

Dongguan Lewe Electronics Co., Ltd

Shenzhen Vanzone Technology Co., Ltd

Galaxy Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd

Baike Hongyun Technology Co., Ltd

Shenzhen Jiapeng Digital Technology Co

Sunwoda (SWD) Shenzhen, China

"Huizhou Desay (DSY) Industrial Co., Ltd"

Huapu Technology

Huizhou Desay Battery Co.

Simplo Technology Inc

SMP

DP

etc...

The battery model is irrelevant because some third party batteries may have that same name. They may be "original" OEM batteries that did not meet Apple's standards & were rejected by Apple, but someone then sold them on the third party market.

You need to trust the people working on your equipment. If you don't trust them, then you should not be using them.

You can contact Apple to see if they can see whether a battery repair has been performed. That is the only way to know for certain. If Apple has no record of the repair, then it is not an OEM battery.

While AASPs are supposed to only use official Apple OEM parts purchased directly from Apple.....I have seen reports from users where third party batteries were used. A respectable tech will inform the user & give them a choice between the two options.
