Because you (or someone who also uses your Mac) downloaded it and installed it, that’s why. This software just doesn’t download and install itself. Your screen shows that it was installed from the Downloads folder.

ADB server is part of Google’s Android SDK (developers kit) allowing development of Android software on macOS. So is this Mac your personal computer or is it a company computer? Are you the only user?

If you are worried this is some kind of malware or hack, it isn’t. It’s used by developers.

As I originally pointed out software like this just doesn’t download and install itself. It takes positive action by the administrator of the computer it is installed on. It would be impossible to ‘accidentally’ install without the operator knowing about it. So I don’t accept your story of not knowing how it got installed on your computer. Don’t try to say you were hacked or scammed. Scammers want to steal your credentials and your money, not install software just to play games.

Did you buy your MacBook used or refurbished?

This is not a question anybody around here can address. Only your backups and logs can (potentially) do that.

The command history is referencing data from 2024, and references a business process optimization and digital marketing firm in Pakistan.

If you did not start from a freshly-installed macOS, or have subsequently lost access control to the Mac and its contents, wipe, and reinstall without restoring, and rotate all credentials.

This is not accidentally and I can confirm you about the story I didn't install ADB on my MAC. I think you need to reconsider your mind.

About hacked or scammed this is your point of view. I just asked a question to know how is possible because actually I didn't install it.

When you talk about scammers you make a supposition because nobody knows exactly what do they want. I bought my Mac in 2021.

The configured backups have not run in over a year. That’s been logged periodically and unresolved, so clearly not an issue for you. That does mean you’ll not have a history of any system activity during those same 384 days with no backups.

Your backup problems are also unrelated to that Android-related app.

What is the history of this Mac? Was it erased before your first use?

I didn't install ADB on my MAC. I think you need to reconsider your mind.

Did you install anything you acquired from one of the software aggregation sites? They make their money by “bundling” other unwanted software with the software you wanted.

As was already stated, software can’t magically install itself. You may not have been aware that you were installing it, but you did or you allowed someone to do it.

Yes I know about the 384 days with no backups. But the problem because when I plug my volume "Extreme" It cannot make the backup and since a couple weeks ago this is almost impossible to read the volume.

The mac doesn't reconize immediatly the volume I have almost everytimes lecture error. When I can read it's impossible to make a backup because the volume is in only lecture mode.

About the link between ADB and the volume "Extrem" I ask because I saw a command maybe via ADB to delete files on the volume.

About the historic:

Purchase of the MAC : 2021 in UE

Since a few months : The Mac frequently restart apparently the cause in the system report is about panic (if I have a good comprehension of that)

Since a few months : Sometimes my internet connexion was very very slow and some websites didn't work like usally. (I have already changed the connexion operator etc)

Then I downloaded Wireshark to look the network activity (see the capture)

The last week end : I have checked the last command on the Mac and I saw the ADB thing...
