Notification banners won't go away in Mac OS Sequoia

Similar to issues with notifications in previous Mac OS's, my "Banner" notifications are not auto removing themselves from my desktop screen. Every app on my Macbook Air is set to "Banners". That should make them disappear after 30 seconds or so. That is not happening. Anyone got a solution?

MacBook Air, macOS 15.6

Make a TM backup or some other method to backup the computer before proceeding

Hold the Option key >> Finder >> Go

This should enable you to get to your user account >> Library

Move to Preferences and find the com.apple.ncprefs.plist file

Drag the file to a safe place

Do not delete it in case thing go wrong

Shutdown the machine then restart again

Test of the Notification issue persists or not

If Not, you can delete that file

Slight correction on this... it appears that this notification issue is only occurring with Apple MAIL notifications. They pop up on the screen and do not disappear. Other app notifications do disappear normally. And, yes, the MAIL notifications setting is for BANNERS. I have also run Disk First Aid on this laptop.

A friendly suggestion, that does fall outside of your original question

Good idea, however it did not work. Or, at least it didn't appear to work at first. After following your suggestion, I went back into the Notification prefs and checked each app that had a notification "stuck" on my screen. In each case, Notifications was NOT ON. After turning each app's notifications to ON, the screen notification disappeared. So, maybe now the issue is fixed? Only time will tell. This feel like progress.
