Terminal search for macOS update failed?
I tried to find the latest update using Terminal and the code I was given a few months ago but it failed.
Any idea why? Is it simply that the update doesn't exist?
Mac mini, macOS 15.5

Mac mini, macOS 15.5
Used this command and it did find 15.6.1
softwareupdate --list-full-installers
Finding available software
Part 1 of 2
Software Update found the following full installers:
* Title: macOS Sequoia, Version: 15.6.1, Size: 15290420KiB, Build: 24G90, Deferred: NO
Part 2 of 2
Using your command and so far is has downloaded 3.0 %
As to how far it will go, I abandoned the full download
This had been an issue in version above 15.3.1 and seemed to have been resolved some where around 15.6, I think
Had posted about this in Lounge > Full Host Bar some time ago
Seemed very little in the way of responses, so asked it be taken down

if your download speed is suspect get on a faster Network; I would also use sudo and compare your results
sudo softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 15.6.1
MacBook-Pro ~ %
MacBook-Pro ~ % sudo softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 15.6.1
Password:
Scanning for 15.6.1 installer
Installing: 25.0%
I've seen this occur a lot with my organization's Macs over the years including while running various versions of macOS 11.x - 15.x. I don't know why it fails. I've even seen the command succeed, but if I try to download another version of macOS installer, it may fail.
I suspect a possible network related issue could be involved, or it is just an issue with macOS and/or Apple's servers. I really suspect it is an Apple issue since other Macs on the same network can download the installer at that time. Very annoying regardless.
You should be able to download the installers through Apple's documented method here:
How to download and install macOS - Apple Support
Thanks for the information.
I wanted to download once as I have 2 minis to update but seeing as the update is under 3GB I will just use the normal route twice.

Welcome and Thank You tooooo 👍. 🦉
Have seen suggested some years ago

Worth a think over ?
