Error message something like Storage running too slow, and live recording stopped. Possible solution.

Live 2 channel recording from an audio mixing desk and a separate microphone. Failure occurred after about 17mins run time. Checked system & SSD all OK. Storage about 700GB free. 4 or 5 apps loaded.

The previous week GarageBand had recorded 70mins faultlessly.

The only change in the week was MS Office installed and activated. MS Defender was not activated via fee as not needed but included in the group.

MS Defender uninstalled and GB tested with 4 live audio I/Ps for over an hour's recording - no problem.

Since the failure, GB has recorded live several 60mins+ sessions with no problems. hopefully the problem is fixed.

A more comprehensive diagnostic app. than built into my Mac would have helped to eliminate possible causes eg in memory and ssd.
