Can I sort albums by artist and then year in Apple Music?

Hi,

I’ve recently moved over to apple music. I was wondering if there was an option when sorting albums to do it by artist first (alphabetically) and then chronologically within that. Right now it’s artists alphabetically and then albums alphabetically within that. Is there a way to change that or put in requests for new features?

Would be cool to have my albums sorted as I would in real life. Know it seems silly but just wondering.

Yes if you are working in the Music app on a Mac. Make sure your library is set of View > As Songs. Then click the Album column header multiple times and it will cycle thru Album, Album by Artist, and Album by Artist/Year. I believe the last of those is the one you are looking for.

If you are trying to do it in the Music app on a phone, I don't think there is a way. It has very limited sort options.

Yeah, it seems they don’t have the same functionality for the iPhone app. Hopefully they add that in future or have it sync with the way it’s setup on PC, seems like an easy enough addition.
