Unable to delete old iCloud backups on iPhone

Have followed directions on how to delete backups. Have deleted all backups on iPhone 14 and iPad; however, when I go to do new backup, it puts everything back on. I don’t backup hardly anything to iCloud and it’s using 3.8 of my iCloud storage. Have gone in and deleted lots of things and still backups everything using most of my iCloud storage. Says 77% of storage is used for backups.

How much data do you have on your iPhone out of the total storage on the phone? Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage. When you backup your data, you backup ALL your data. Instead of trying to micromanage how much space you're using in iCloud, upgrade your iCloud Storage Plan to the next level which moves it to 50GB for a measly $1 per month.

It appears you are backing both an iPhone and an iPad to your account. Given how much data you're backing up, it wouldn't be remotely unreasonable that a new backup would take up 3.8GB of iCloud Space. I'm not sure what you expected here? When you use up your free 5GB, you'll either not be able to backup your devices or you'll need to buy more space in iCloud.
