How can I fix Journal app streak counter resetting randomly?

I have been using the Journal app everyday for the last year. The Day/Week Streak counter is broken. It will reset itself to zero for no reason then reset itself to the correct amount of weeks the next day. This is a frustrating bug that needs fixing. Why include it if it is broken?
