Apple Intelligence Setup Stuck on “In Progress…” for 48+ Hours (After China Trip)
I have an iPhone 16 Pro purchased in Canada, running iOS 18.2.
Here’s the issue:
- I recently traveled to China and temporarily switched my Apple ID region to China.
- After returning, I switched my Apple ID region back to Canada.
- I’ve confirmed that:
- Device Language: English (Canada)
- Region: Canada
- Siri Language: English (Canada)
- iOS: 18.2 (latest)
- Everything else works fine.
The problem:
In Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri, it has been stuck on “In Progress…” for over 48 hours.
I’ve tried:
Restarting my iPhone
Signing out and back into iCloud
Double-checking all language/region settings
Nothing has worked so far.
Questions:
- Is this related to switching my Apple ID to China during the trip?
- Does this mean my account is blocked from enabling Apple Intelligence?
- Is there a way to refresh or force-complete the setup without calling support?
