Not being notified of incoming calls while sharing screen on FaceTime

While screen sharing on FaceTime, iPhone does not show incoming calls, nor does it notify for the same. Even after ending the FaceTime call, no notification is provided regarding the missed calls. Only way to know that I have missed calls is to check the phone app or to scan through the notifications. I missed an emergency call for the same. Please advise on a potential fix and/or fix it with an update.
