My rules for my emails are not working.

I have just started to get lots of spam mails all concerning PayPal. I don't use PayPal and have created a rule to place all emails with the word PayPal in them to be deleted - but they are not deleted and just go to my Junk. I would like them to be deleted without me having to see them - is this possible? And if not, what is the definition of 'delete'?

But some mails with PayPal in them are still getting into my Inbox. Can anyone help please? Also, this is not a moan, but I thought Apple was more immune to such spam than others? Hence the cost?!

Spam is spam. Nobody is immune. Your email provider often will have spam filters to catch most egregious spammers, but some messages will always get through. If messages are going to junk, the server side rules may be running to identify the junk mail before your Mac-based rules fire.

My email provider?! It’s Mail. They are addressed to email addresses that are total gobbledegook. Not similar to mine at all. So me changing my addresses surely won’t stop them. Am I right? Can u please tell me how on earth they get thru to me?

If they are always different how can I stop them?
