Recently, on my computer I don't have a field to type in for larger text groups (even if they are around 4+ people). The only way I can reply is with my iphone. What is going on? How do I fix it? It is synced up. I even signed out and signed back in. Text forwarding is on also. Help!

Am using n earlier MacOs version .. have noticed this issue if I have the text set to larger than the "normalr" size, and am actually in the act of messaging back and forth.
(ie: If nothing is happening in messages at the time, text box just shows as it should.).
When text size is restored to "normal", can see the text input field again ok. Works for me, so worth a try ?
For the setting in Messages : Choose "View" in the top Menu Bar > click on text size you want to choose.
(Eg: can make it bigger and then bigger again (two clicks)
