Deleting an app that isnt downloaded

I’m trying to delete an old version of teams but when I try to move it to trash it says I can’t as it ‘isnt downloaded’ yet i can open the app just fine? I then tried to update this old version but the app wouldn’t allow me. I can’t find a way to force the deletion. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance!
