problems using carplay and bluetooh hearing aids

I use hearing aids with bluetooth. I recently bought a 2023 Toyota Rav 4 which has Carplay. What a pain! When I am in the car I would like my Iphone to ALWAYS play audio via my car stereo. This includes telephone calls. If I use my phone while in the car and I have my hearing aids on the audio switches from the car stereo to my hearing aids and I cannot get the audio to go back to the car stereo without turning the car off and restarting carplay. It usually isn't convienent to pull over and stop the car. This is very annoying. My old Toyota Venza from 2012 had a bluetooth system that worked great. When I was in the car, the car stereo took precidence for all audio if the car was on. Carplay stinks in my opinion.

Can anyone tell me how to make the car stereo always take precidence for audio from my iphone when using carplay? Thanks in advance.

Where to start ? All we know about your issue is what you have told us so far,

Wondering if you have consulted the car manufaturer's manual, or support team

and

whether or not the car's firmware / software is up-to-date for compatibility with CarPlay on iPhone..

Seems that would generally be the usual output for audio when using CarPlay on iPhone. You may want to check with the car manufacturer whether its possible to connect your hearing-aids with the car's system.

_______________

Trouble-shooting:

We don't know which model iPhone you use, or which iOS version is installed:

(Also: Was CarPlay correctly set-up for use?)

and

whether or not all the software on your iPhone and in the car is up-to-date for compatibility.

Eg: About iOS 18 Updates - Apple Support says the newest iOS version is iOS 18.6.2

and

"This update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users".
