keynote 14.4 repeats second slide in slideshow

I have a 35-slide Keynote slideshow. When I (in edit mode) click through the slides, slides advance perfectly. When I choose "Play" or "Rehearse," the second slide shows up twice (or it seems so because it stays on the screen when the 3rd slide should appear with a click of the down arrow or spacebar). Rehearse shows "Builds remaining: 1" as next slide rather than actual next slide.

That means there's an object on the slide with a build applied. You can tell by the 'three dots' on the slide in the sidebar. On the Animate tool panel (upper right), click the Build Order button to see the objects with builds, then click on an object in the list to select it in the slide editor. You can then use the Change button in the Animate panel to set the effect to None, that will remove the build.

You can add a link to any text or shape you choose, with whatever properties/colors/etc you want. For example:

You cannot change the appearance of the little blue circle with the arrow that indicates there is a link assigned to the object, but that circle/arrow does not show up when you are viewing the slideshow:

In presentation mode when I move the cursor over that shape, the regular arrow pointer changes to the pointing finger, and clicking opens the link.
