Workaround - Notes on Icloud Using Chrome Extremely Slow, Lagging and Unusable

If you’re seeing heavy lag in iCloud Notes on Chrome for Windows 11, here’s the workaround:

• When you first open a note, there’s a 2–4 second delay for every action—cursor placement, typing, selecting text. This happens regardless of note length (short notes or thousands of words).
• The only “fix” is leaving the note open for about 5 minutes. After that, it suddenly works normally with no lag.
• Closing the browser resets the cycle so logging back into Notes again means waiting another 5 minutes before edits are usable.
• It seems likely there’s a background sync process happening that must complete before the note becomes responsive.

Not ideal for quick edits, but once that background process is finished, Notes is usable in my experience so long as you keep the browser tab open to avoid repeating the wait.
