Can a dual-core processor use software requiring multicore?

I'm using MacBook Air with a dual-core processor and OS 12.7.4. I'm wanting to download a copy of Adobe InCopy to edit a received book file, but they specify that a multicore processor is required. Can I use InCopy with a dual-core processor? Thankyou!

Sounds like a question better asked of Adobe. Their forums like these are quite good.

👉🏻 The bigger issue is whether or not Adobe InCopy supports macOS 12. Many software companies now require a Mac to have one of the three latest macOS versions to install. Today those are:

— macOS 15 Sequoia

— macOS 14 Sonoma

— macOS 13 Ventura.

Yours is running macOS 12 Monterey.

Adobe should have InCopy system requirements on their web site, adobe.com

Also, do "About this Mac..." from your Apple menu and tell us the SUB-MODEL of your Macbook Air. Here is where Sub-model shows in macOS 12:

We mainly need the YEAR. Fo r security reasons, please DO NOT post a serial number here.

With that, we can see whether your Macbook Air can be upgraded to at least Ventura. The last of the Intel-powered Macbook Airs (Retina 13-inch 2020) can have a 4-core processor only if up-ordered; otherwise, they are 2-core processors. IMHO, two is still "multi."
