Apple TV app won't stream videos on MacBook Pro M1
I have a MacBook Pro M1 as well as a Mac mini M1 and Mac mini M4.
On the MBP M1, I am unable to stream videos in TV app. When I start a video, I get the Apple TV+ splash screen, some advertisements for other Apple TV+ shows, new this month etc, I even get "previously on xxxx" for the shows previous show snippets. Then the streaming stops. I can't fast forward or any other actions.
I have a similar problem with streaming Netflix shows on Safari. For Netflix, I can stream them on Firefox on MBP M1.
No streaming issues whatsoever on either Mac mini, or my iPhone or iPad M1. All devices updated to the latest software. The Mac's are running Sequoia 15.6.1 but I had this issue since the start of Sequoia and nothing seems to help. For the TV app, I quit and restarted. I force quit, I rebooted the Mac, I shutdown, waited a while and restarted. On Safari, I cleaned up browser data for Netflix and even everything else, cleared all the cache, restarted etc. Nothing seems to help and I can't seem to find any help anywhere.
I have seen others reporting the same issue and no resolution. We all get the same tired and unhelpful "try restarting, try updating software, try clearing browser data, try signing off iCloud and signing back in" , etc etc.
