Cannot send message using the server iCloud

I just got my brand new MacBook Air M4 (MacOS 15.6) and configured all mail accounts as I'm used to on all my other devices (Windows/iOS).

The problem is I cannot send e-mail without getting errors first: "Cannot send message using the server iCloud" which seems logical as I try to send an e-mail from my Google Workspace account.

So I checked Mail > Settings > Accounts and then in Server Settings you can setup the right Outgoing server for the respective account. However this doesn't seem to work: Mail keeps bothering me with the error "Cannot send message using the server iCloud" and I need to manually pick a server. Every time I send an e-mail.

Now what I did is starting all over again. Remove all accounts, reboot the Macbook, add all accounts individually. Unfortunately the errors keeps popping up.

Are there any hacks or pref files I can edit to force it to use the right SMTP/imap server?

If something similar happened to your Mail and you think you've tried all solutions: here's another tip.

In my case my Apple ID (iCloud login) has the same e-mail address as my Google Workspace account. Mail doesn't seem to like that at all and crashes randomly, you cannot send mail at all etc.etc.

Remove the iCloud account from the Mail accounts and login using your Apple mail address (@iCloud.com/ @me.com) than it will work properly.
