Urgent: Display Issue After Updating to iOS 18.6.2 on iPhone 13 - Green flashes appear

I am writing to report an issue that began immediately after updating my iPhone 13 to iOS 18.6.2. Since the update, I am noticing frequent green flashes across the screen while using the device.

Key observations:

  • The issue was not present before the update.
  • Screenshots captured during the issue appear perfectly clear, which suggests the problem is related to the display rendering or driver layer, not the actual content.
  • The green flashes make normal usage of the device difficult and raise concerns about a potential iOS display bug introduced in version 18.6.2.

Please advise on any interim troubleshooting steps or official workarounds I can follow until a fix is provided.

Also if someone else has also faced the similar issue, then please help to provide how to fix this ?

Try and force restart the iPhone to see if the issues persist

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

It surely is not iOS 18.6.2 because...

I conducted a thorough search of this forum using the term 'Green after iOS update' and uncovered numerous posts detailing similar issues across various iOS updates. This suggests that iOS updates may not consistently be the root cause. Below are a handful of examples extracted from the search results:

same issue. Was working fine suddenly screen started blinking and went yellow! No idea whats going on. Using 13 pro max

Well it won't be solved here on this user to user only forum. It sounds like you have a hardware issue, so you'll need to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar to have your phone evaluated and Apple will tell you what your service options are.

Same issue is with me also, my iPhone 13 Pro was working good before the update and after updating my iPhone to 18.6.2 version of software update, my iPhone's screen started flickering. I restarted my iPhone and it was fixed for a while. Suddenly after 5 minutes it showed same problem and now it is not being fixed even by restarting the device. It’s surely software issue because my iPhone was working in good conditions before software update. Apple should fix it as soon as possible. It’s surely problem from the apple side because it’s occurring in many of the iPhone and it’s common in all that they had updated their iPhone to the same version.

Different iPhone - XS Max-, different screen issue - top part of the screen irresponsive- since IOS update 18.6.2. And this is rendering my phone nearly useless for many apps. It was working absolutely fine until then. Any hints?

I have tried hard reboot numerous times, swiped all data, restored to factory settings - to no avail. And am travelling currently in Africa for next 6 weeks, with no possibility to have the screen changed (only 3 authorised repair services in the country and none have an original Apple screen available). Am seriously annoyed if I have to purchase a new phone here and now..!
