? Disable autosave in TextEdit Sequoia?

I have well-established habits of saving. Autosave is causing me to lose work by interrupting me and telling me it is unable to autosave, and offering me the chance to "revert." This causes me lose work each time, and it is happening more often. In earlier versions of macOS there were ways to do this. After reading these threads for a while, I now wonder:

In Sequoia, is the command line the only way to turn off autosave in TextEdit.

The issue seems to be arise whenever the TextEdit file is not located in iCloud Drive.

MacBook Air, macOS 15.6

I have never encountered this error in TextEdit.app in any of the macOS going way back.

I use TextEdit quite extensively everyday

Also I do not see TextEdit as an option to save to iCloud...(?) I can not speak to "iCloud Drive."
